Online Video - is it the next BIG power application?
Terry Anderson (2008) among others, have asked this question in relation to distance education. What do you think? Are you finding a use for online video in your deliveries?

Online Video has a place in the educational array of tools. we however, need to be careful that we actually have a learning and teaching purpose for any tool. Often as adults we go for tools that replicate what we (as teachers)had in the classroom and our need to see people. I have heard very few students ask for a web cam rather than a video cam, iPod, etc. Students by choice are spending much of their choice time in a txt based or virtual world. Online video enables authentication and relationship making its not the place for higher order thinking. Tools that promote students to produce, reflect, analyze, snthesize
